My Background

Before I was in kindergarten I remember my dad drawing for commission and I thought that was pretty cool. I sat and drew right along with him for a while. As my skills grew I became independent and tried to draw more things. In third grade I won my first drawing competition. In middle school I won an award for “best art student“. In high school I not only made it into the county art show but I made it into the state art show! The whole time my class mates, principal and teachers told me I should pursue a career in art. I did not follow though with their recommendations… until now

Although I have had the opportunity to work with many mediums such as clay, colored pencils, pastels, and various types of paint; I do believe my favorite mediums to work with are acrylic paints and just a good old fashioned pencil. I do, however, still leave my mind open to different mediums and mixing mediums to create new and unique pieces.

My purpose

My purpose

I love to follow the serotonin. Most of my pieces begin with a specific thing in mind such as a person, plant or animal and usually end with the most interesting setting or action I can think for that object. Most of the time it turns out to be weird but intriguing. I almost never have a set plan before I start a piece but I'm also never dissatisfied with the product.
